HELP!

Ladies and Gentlemen of the blogosphere.

Brea's Befuddled Brain for once isn't just a cute name. My brain is VERY fuddled, and it/I needs your help.

I have been asking around the 'touchable' people I know, and I am getting the same old tired answers that I get every year.

So I put this to you, dear, dear readers...

Tomika turns the big 13 in a little over a Month and I have NO IDEA WHAT TO DO FOR HER BIRTHDAY PARTY!!!

I originally had the (what I thought was) BRILLIANT idea of hiring out a Hotel suite for her and 5 of her GIRLfriends (with me safely ensconced in one of the rooms of course!), BUT the few Hotels I have contacted within my price range have said HELL NO they won't have 6 giggling teenagers in a room for the night, even with me in the room.

(Interestingly enough, just to appease my curiosity, I called one of them back, and told them I wanted the suite for 7 Women for a Hens night... And did they have 24 hour room service to deliver alcohol to the room AND would they mind if I got a stripper ~ They didn't mind. Hmm... I know which I would rather!)

I don't want to take them to the movies (boring), out for dinner (done, and double boring), or anything that smacks too much of childhood (embarrassing!).

Oh... And... THERE AINT NO WAY ON GODS GREEN EARTH THAT I AM HAVING THEM AT MY PLACE!!! (I'm just sayin'.)

So, any ideas on what I should do?

What would YOUR perfect 13th Birthday Party be...?

(I wonder if she'll still let me take photos like this of her once she turns 13? (He he!))

Or will they all have to be like this...

My PRE-teen, is going to be a ACTUAL-TEEN.

SHIT SCARED ANYONE?

  1. How about a "spa" day? Getting manicures and pedicures.... A lot of salons would love to host something like this

  2. How about a mocktail party at a local hotel or bar? The girls can dress up in their most sophisticated clothes and spend the afternoon sipping and gossiping!

Or a pricier option would be some sort of day spa experience - maybe you could arrange with a local nail bar for a group booking?

    Keep 'em coming!

  4. Oooh, love the spa idea, I still want that, now!

I know one girl who for her birthday around that time got a handful of her girlfriends and they spent an evening being drivenaround in a limousine. Fancy dress-up, mock-tails, hanging out, and being in a limo. To me this sounds deadly boring, but the girl thought it was amazing and her brother was soooo jealous and insisted on it for his party, too. :P

Also, that is odd. I would so rather giggly pre-teens next door than a stripper...

  5. She is GORGEOUS! Oh my. Good luck on that 13th thing. My daughter is five so i have a few years until i have to deal with that nightmare, I mean, sweet occasion. :-)

  6. Is she counting on a sleepover? I wouldn't do that either. Maybe one or two, but not 6 or 7. And it kills me that the hotel will allow 7 women with alcohol and a stripper and not 6 girls. hahaha.

My daughter is also turning 13 this year. And I have no clue. LOL.

I know for one of my niece's teen birthday's they bought champagne glasses at the dollar tree, filled them with candy, used like candy sticks for a straw and even a little umbrella. I can't remember what else. I think they just sat around and giggled and listened to music.

Good luck--I know I wasn't much help--can't wait to see what you do.

  7. I like the spa idea too. Sounds great. They'd probably let you book it out if it were a small place and if you could find a little independent one (depending on where you live) you could probably book it out and they might even let you bring your own decorations etc. Go to one of those party places (again, depends where you live) and get a themed b'day.

  8. The decision is made.

    ***drumroll please***

I am going with the nails.

I have arranged with a local nail salon to give five of the little princesses a French manicure.

At the same time, I am going to have some fruit punch in wine glasses, and snacks, for them to sip and munch.

The owner of the Salon sorted me out herself, and she was VERY reasonable about it all.

Thank you everyone for your input. I appreciate your thoughts!
